Kinky Boots – Manchester Opera House (21/11/18)

So it’s been 3 musicals in 3 weeks for me! My absolute dream!! I did try and find another one to watch this week but didn’t succeed which was a shame for me but a relief for my bank balance.

This time I was back in Manchester but over at the Opera house this time and we were off to watch Kinky Boots. Now I absolutely LOVE RuPaul’s Drag Race and my annual visit to Funny Girls in Blackpool so this show was right up my street.

I’ve seen the film adaptation of the story and couldn’t wait to see it live on stage. Once again Mum had done an amazing job with the seats (which is more than can be said for me for Heathers last week) and we were ready to see the show.

Every single show I’ve been to recently has left me feeling energised and ready to tackle life and this was no exception. The way Lola and Charlie tackle a tricky situation and prove everyone wrong was empowering. I hope that no matter what I do in my life I have that drive and determination.

Every single actor in the production was outstanding but shout out to the drag queens. You all made that stage shine and I wish I could dance in heels the way you do!! You’re lucky if I can walk in my thick heel boots let alone stilettos! Dancing in heels is one thing I’ve never really trained in during classes and it’s something I’ve not really grasped during nights out…

This show really teaches you to be who you want to be and I think everyone could learn from the six steps to success. I thought my dancers at my dance class could that much I bought the t shirt with them on. It teaches you too love you for who you are, no matter what you say, do or look like. However I’d love to have legs as good as some of those performers…

I fell a little bit in love with this show and would go again and again which I know I say a lot but not every show I see has this impact! If anyone has a chance to see the tour GO and if not get yourself to London before it finishes in a couple of months. You WILL NOT regret the decision!! It really will raise you up ❤️
